These are some photos taken mainly during a walk from Haputale to Makulela along the 'Pekoe Trail', and also in areas around it such as Lipton Seat.
Here, I was travelling with a Pekoe trail investigation team, between the 28th of March and 31st of March 2023.
First we visited a few locations in the Ettampitiya area, and then started to follow the trail from Haputale; via the Haputale forest, Haputale estate, Nayabedda Upper division, Pitarathmalie estate, Thotalagala and Dambethenna estates up-to St. Catherine - which is the stage 13 (out of the 22 stages) of the pekoe trail [approx. distance 14 km / approx. elevation gain 2,600 ft / approx. elevation loss 1,200 ft].
Stage 14 of the Pekoe trail is from St. Catherine to Makulela, via Balagala and the upper areas of Liyangahawela [approx. distance 9 km / approx. elevation gain 600 ft / approx. elevation loss 2.700 ft].
