ARANKELE

The Archaelogical remains of the ARANKELE FOREST MONASTRY belong to a period between the 6th & 8th centuries. The Monastry itself is believed to date back to the 2nd century BC. Arankele is situated about 30km from Kurunegala, along the Ibbagamuwa - Madagalla road.
